"This is a real community effort."

"I want to thank all the nurses and staff in this place. I am so proud to be your Health Minister, and when I see all of the enormous tasks and work staff perform at hospitals, it's fascinating."

He believes the bond made between each other is a marvel sight.

"Just to see the love and care, and with you all being experts in your field it's how you treat people personally that really cuts it with the patients".

The minister also confirmed that demolition of the OLD hospital will commence soon.

"It was fantastic that we could actually hold the old hospital open when it looked like we might really need it, but now we are progressing with the plans to bring it down shortly."

Health Service manager at the Hospital, Caren Harrison says one on the Major new services is the addition of a CT scanner…..

"In the first three weeks of the CT Scanner becoming operational, we actually didn't have to transfer our 84 patients that needed it".

"As previously where we may have needed to put patients in an ambulance and sent to either the private CT unit in Dubbo or Orange for their scanning; it's all done in-house and it's a massive improvement." she says.
