State member for Dubbo, Dugald Saunders, has been pressed on the issue of Solar Farms on approaches into town.

The Member spoke with Ken Sutcliffe on 2MG.

"It depends on what the community wants. Mudgee and Gulgong have both been good examples of people saying to me that they don't want it here."

"The community aspect is the most important part".

Mr Saunders also says when questioned on the location of the new solar farm on the approach of Wellington, that those developing them want to take the cheapest option, close to existing infrastructure.

"The one at Wellington is a bit different to Gulgong, with the planning having been done a little while ago, it is opposite from a correctional facility and a major sub-station as well."
