Mudgee Connected Through New Pathways

Runners and cyclists within Mudgee now have access to a new section of concrete paths around town.

Construction has just wrapped up on the shared loop pathway, spanning 8 kilometres, to enable safer outdoor exercise.

Further sections are still to be completed on the pathway, that will eventually connect Mudgee’s town centre around Walkers Oval, across the Cudgegong River through to the Glen Willow Regional Sporting Complex.

It will also connect the Putta Bucca residential area, Wetlands and around to the Mudgee Racecourse and returning to the CBD.

Dubbo MP, Dugald Saunders, says “We’ve seen through the COVID-19 period how beneficial it can be to get outdoors and get some fresh air and exercise, and this pathway will make that easier for the people of Mudgee."

“Whether it is before work or after work, and whether to want to do the entire path or just part of it, there are safe options for people who want to get out for a walk, a run or a bike ride."

He also says funding also went towards "increased lighting through the Pitts Lane area at Glen Willow, which will improve safety through that part of the circuit.”

Almost $200,000 of NSW Government funding was given to Mid-Western Regional Council to complete the section of path connecting Putta Bucca Wetlands to the residential area.
