The health message around our hospitals and medical areas now is simple: “If it’s not on, it’s not on”.

All facilities across the Western NSW Local Health District require all staff, patients and visitors to wear face masks to enter medical premises; including the new Mudgee hospital.

The regional health district Chief Executive, Scott McLachlan, says “We are urging the community to be prepared and to bring their own mask when they come to our health services.

Spokesperson for the Western NSW Local Health District has confirmed that people may wear their own mask, or receive one supplied by the precinct during a wellness screening.

Where possible, patients coming to a health service will be required to wear a mask and those patients already in hospital will be required to wear a mask outside their clinical area/ward.

At this stage, children 12 years old and under are not required to wear a mask if they do not have any symptoms.
