Work on the construction of the new art gallery in Mudgee are expected to commence within the next 3 months, according to a project update provided at Wednesday night’s meeting of Mid-Western Regional Council.

Councillors were informed that work was also underway with Mudgee Region Tourism on the interior retail design and that a name for the gallery would be determined so that a logo, marketing and promotional material could be developed.

Hutchinson who was awarded the construction tender began their works on the site earlier this month.

The update says that a total of 30% of the overall project is now completed, with a number of milestones already achieved for the stage.

These include the Junior Rugby League amenities building being completed along with a number of tenders also awarded recently.

The next 3 months is expected to see the construction of the Rugby Union clubhouse & canteen and the construction of a number of the new playing fields, which are expected to be complete by April next year.
