Gulgong Memorial Hall To Get A Facelift

Gulgong Memorial Hall is in line for a facelift thanks to a partnership between the NSW Government and Mid-Western Regional Council.

Member for Dubbo Dugald Saunders has announced $50,000 for the project, which will complement $100,000 being contributed by the council to fix roofing and guttering and do painting inside the building.

Mr Saunders says it is good to be able to support community projects, and a hall like the one at Gulgong supports several community groups in the town.

He says that although groups can’t currently meet here due to COVID-19, it will be important to have facilities like Gulgong Hall ready to service the people who use it, and when we get through this current situation some of the infrastructure we have now will be up to scratch and ready to use for community groups.

Mid-Western Regional Council mayor, Cr Des Kennedy says, that "Council had budgeted $100,000 towards this project so they’re grateful for the State Government support that will allow them to proceed, and hopefully have the work complete by the time people are able to use the hall again".
