Lightning and storms around the district keeping local emergency crews busy on Monday evening.

The Rural Fire Service received a range of calls in relation to trees alight, trees across roads and other fires in the Eurunderee, Gulgong, Cooks Gap and Lue areas.

Troy Porter from the RFS says that after storms landholders should be keeping an eye on trees on their property, telling 2MG News that it could take up to a week after a lightening strike before a tree catches fire.

Meantime, the SES say they received only 3 calls for assistance, with 2 calls for downed trees and one for roof damage.
