Nationals candidate for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders is supporting an online petition from the NSW Business Chamber opposing Labor’s proposal on Payroll Tax.

Mr Saunders says The NSW Nationals and Liberals in Government announced payroll tax relief in the June state budget,

changing the threshold for businesses to start paying payroll tax from $750,000 to $850,000 this year, then increasing by $50,000 each year, for the next 3 years.

He says Labor’s promise to reverse those changes could cost impacted businesses almost $10,000 per year.

The Chamber has launched the online petition called Jobs Tax as they say Labors policy of blocking the changes will mean more taxes on jobs for regional businesses.
