Mudgee Wine Show Not Going Ahead

posted Jun 25, 2020, 8:15 PM by 2MG Real FM
The Mudgee Wine Association Wine Show Committee and the MWA Executive Committee have announced that this year’s Mudgee Wine Show will not go ahead.

James Manners - Chairman, Mudgee Wine Show says the main points that drove the cancellation were solely based on COVID restrictions and regulations that, at the time of the decision, would make the running of the show prohibitive given the requirement for social distancing and the sterilisation of glassware, the ability to generate sponsorship revenue due to the difficult trading conditions that our sponsors are now facing and the costs associated with entering the show and providing wine for exhibitors due to the difficult trading conditions.

The most significant hurdle was the inability of the confirmed Judges and Chief Judge to attend as they grapple with salvaging their own respective businesses.

He says that the decision to cancel until 2021 is disappointing but it is the right thing to do.
