posted Jul 5, 2020, 8:47 PM by 2MG Real FM
Aged care specialists, the Whidden Group, has officially taken over the running of Mudgee’s Pioneer house last week.

General Manager of the facility, Dean Saxby, says that the facility will remain community based.

"Being an independently owned and operated site, while also being run as a not-for-profit service provider", he says.

He’s also told Ken Sutcliffe, on 2MG's Saturday morning show, that one of the major challenges is for operators to even BREAK EVEN financially.

"At least 70% or more aged care facilities across regional areas are running at a loss, and even being a not-for-profit, every business still needs to make a profit to continue".
