Local volunteer firefighters helping on the coast

As we approach what’s expected to be a long fire season locally and across NSW a number of local NSW RFS - Cudgegong District Firefighters are already going ‘above and beyond’ by helping to fight fires in coastal areas.

4 volunteer firefighters from Mudgee Headquarters Gulgong DC  and Cooyal RFS Brigades have been deployed to assist the Lower North Coast Team with a number of bush fires in their region.

Since departing on Sunday afternoon from Gulgong, crews have primary been working on the Sundowner Creek Road Fire as part of the Region West Strike Team to bring this fire under control.

This deployment comes off the back of the Cudgegong Superintendent undertaking the role of Rural Liaison Officer in the NSW RFS - Clarence Valley District, as a number of fires burn across that region.
