Council helps educate on water restrictions

Residents of the Mid-Western Region will receive a flyer advising the permitted activities around Level 2 water restrictions sometime this week.

Council have Included in the flyer permitted activities under the current Level 2 water restrictions, watering times and an explanation of the Odds and Evens Watering System. The reverse of the flyer outlines permitted activities for Level 3 water restrictions, which could be triggered in the next bulk water transfer from Windamere goes ahead.

That proposed transfer of water between Windamere Dam and Burrendong Dam could occur in February next year.

Council’s General Manager Brad Cam said if the transfer does go ahead this will reduce dam levels which may trigger Council to implement Level 3 water restrictions.

He says that Whilst Council is educating residents around Level 2 restrictions, the flyer is a good opportunity to provide further information on what is involved with Level 3 restrictions.

The flyer will be delivered to all mailboxes and PO Boxes throughout the region next week. If you do not receive a flyer, please visit one of Council’s Customer Service Centres in Mudgee, Rylstone or Gulgong for your copy.
