White Ribbon Day is about bringing awareness to Violence against Women. At the Mudgee Town Hall Theatre on Friday 23 November, a new short film will be shown highlighting domestic violence, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. The film will be screened at 10am, 2pm and 6.30pm.

The 15-minute drama, Jade, filmed west of Brisbane, tells the fictional story of a 12-year-old girl trapped in a world of abuse at the hands of her adoptive father.

A new short film aims to shine a light on domestic violence, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), its Queensland writer and director, Angie Fleming, has said. The 15-minute drama, Jade, filmed west of Brisbane, tells the fictional story of a 12-year-old girl trapped in a world of abuse at the hands of her adoptive father. Fleming said she began writing the script four years ago as a way to escape her own clutches of psychological abuse, depression and PTSD.

Violence against women is at epidemic proportions. Devastatingly, over 12 months, on average, one woman is killed every week in Australia as a result of intimate partner violence.
